Scott to Begin New Trash Service in September
Posted on Aug 25th, 2022

Scott Waste will be starting a more-automated trash collection process beginning on September 12, 2022.  They will be using single-operator trucks with a hydraulic arm to pick up trash.  Residents will be required to place their trash in Scott's 96-gallon containers designed to work with the automated trucks.  These trash cans are already in use by many residents.
Residents that have been using their own trash containers will have a new Scott container delivered to them from August 29th through September 9th.  The new containers must be placed with 18 inches of the curb.  It is important to place trash in bags before putting it into the new containers as a way of reducing litter.
City residents can order a second 96-gallon container from Scott for $5.  Scott Waste's website spells out procedures for having one bulky item per week picked up. Instructions for bundling yard waste to ensure that it is picked up are also included.
