BOWLING GREEN, KY-- Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) will review their past to look forward to the future at their upcoming Winter Rally of the Neighborhoods, scheduled for Tuesday, January 31. Informal networking and light refreshments will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Bowling Green Police Department, 911 Kentucky Street with the program scheduled to start at 6:30.
First item on the agenda will be a presentation on Radon for Radon Awareness Month, followed by small table discussions focusing on these themes for the future:
• Relationships in Community
• Safety & Respect for the Law
• Physical Environment/Beauty
• Leisure & Recreation
• Growth & Development
• Community Pride
• Attitude & Personal Responsibility
These themes for action were established at BGCAN's initial founding in February, 2001. Attendees will have an opportunity to discuss the progress Bowling Green neighborhoods have made since BGCAN's founding and explore ideas for future progress.
This Winter Rally is an opportunity for neighborhood groups to fulfill the training requirement for the 2012 Select Neighborhood Action Program (SNAP) grant cycle.
BGCAN is a networking organization made up of many neighborhood groups and individual residents who are interested in improving the quality of life in Bowling Green's neighborhoods. While a quorum of the current Board of Commissioners may be present at this Rally, no formal action will be taken.
