BGCAN HOSTS COMMISSION CANDIDATES FORUM THURSDAY
Posted on Oct 25th, 2011

BOWLING GREEN, KY-- Bowling Green Coalition of Active Neighborhoods (BGCAN) will host a forum for Mayor and City Commissioner special election candidates at their Fall Rally of the Neighborhoods Thursday night, October 27. Informal networking and light refreshments will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at Bowling Green Parks & Recreation on 3rd Avenue, with the program scheduled to start at 6:30.

This is the fourth time BGCAN has hosted a candidates' forum for the Board of Commissioners, but the first time for a special election. All special election candidates for Mayor and for the single City Commissioner slot were invited to participate in the forum.

This Fall Rally is an opportunity for neighborhood groups to fulfill the training requirement for the 2011 Select Neighborhood Action Program (SNAP) grant cycle.
BGCAN is a networking organization made up of many neighborhood groups and individual residents who are interested in improving the quality of life in Bowling Green's neighborhoods. While a quorum of the current Board of Commissioners may be present at this Rally, no formal action will be taken.

The Neighborhood Action Office is still accepting submissions of questions for the forum. To submit a question for the candidates or for more information, email karen.foley@bgky.org or call 270.393.3674.
